Earthworm Dissection

April 27
1. Students completed the booklet on animals from PBS.
2. Students watched the following video on starfish: Starfish movement and feeding. Students then answered questions about the video on a worksheet
3. Students created a 3D model of a starfish and used the Starfish Dissection and Sea Star Facts websites to label their starfish and answer the questions on their worksheet.

April 25
Students went to the PBS animal information site in order to create a classroom "Tree of Life."

Students created a booklet for each animal which contained the following required Information:
the phyla
the animals in the phyla
the animal body structure 
how the animal adapts to its environment
what it eats 
a picture of the animal 
and three interesting facts about it. 

April 23
Students created an animal suited to particular environments and explained how their animals' adaptations allowed the animals to survive in their habitats. Document can be found on classjump.


April 19
Students participated in an ipad scavenger hunt and created a dichotomous key for two imaginary creatures.


April 17

1. Students took the county post-test (Click on Science 6, then click on the "Environmental Science County Test.")
